App Annie lays off "a small fraction" of its workforce
App Annie has made an unconfirmed number of redundancies as it contends with the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
GamesIndustry.biz has received confirmation that a "small fraction of the workforce" has been let go at the mobile analytics specialist.
There is no word on exactly how many people have been affected. An external source suggested it could be around 18%.
App Annie has told us this is part of plans to restructure the company to ensure it is self-sufficient enough to weather the economic impact of the global outbreak.
In a statement to GamesIndustry.biz, the company said: "The COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented and has forced many companies to make difficult decisions. We have built a self-sustainable business that we remain committed to, and this unfortunately means tough choices for us as well.
"With the current macroeconomic climate, we have decided to restructure the company to remain efficient and sadly, have to part ways with some very talented people. We are doing everything that we can, to the best of our abilities, to ensure for their well-being."
